Thomas Baines Nature Reserve is named after the famous 19th Century artist, THOMAS BAINES, who left a valuable record of the rich diversity of fauna and flora in the region.
This reserve had the oldest white rhino in Southern Africa, named Tom. Tom died a few years ago of old age.
